Hello.
My name is Rebecca Rehder and I’m a portrait photographer in New York City that specializes in capturing women at the prime of their lives and beyond.
I came to New York 20 years ago to work in advertising and help brands like Pepsi and L’Oreal create desire by connecting creativity with human emotion. Working with some of the best creatives, photographers and directors in the business, I quickly learned how good lighting, make-up, styling and direction elevates the ordinary to the sublime.
Portraiture called my name a few years ago when I was getting yet another headshot done for an agency pitch. While the photo was fine, it didn’t capture the “me” who was leading a multi-million dollar pitch. It lacked…zhuzh.
I had just turned 40 and wanted more than just looking good or settling for an Instagram filtered selfie. I quickly learned I wasn’t alone, that other women also wanted to be captured, celebrated and seen for all the nuances that make them more than just a pretty face.
Since then, I’ve made it my mission to use portraiture to bring the best out in women and the celebrate whatever chapter they’re on in their book of life. To be seen, to be visible and look damn good while doing it.
